Represented her school in sprints & jumps, and Hampshire County, England in sprints, before emigrating to NZ. Coached NZ teams at World Youth Champs, Oceania Champs, decathletes and heptathletes who’ve been to Olympics, World Youth, Commonwealth Youth, hurdlers & high jumpers to Youth Olympics, Oceania Champs, several athletes to NZ titles at U20, U18, U16 decathlon, heptathlon, octathlon, many NZ Sec School title winners in a wide range of events, ten athletes to international events overseas, national relay quad member; has delivered Run Jump Throw & Get Set Go courses contractually for Athletics WaiBOP, often appointed coach to WaiBOP teams to national champs at a variety of age levels.
Was a WaiBOP centre selector and coaching co-ordinator, club secretary, Athletics NZ lecturer for jumps & throws, coached Special Olympics at athletics & football for ten years, long-time club committee member, coaching qualifications longer than we have space for, including massage first aid, Special Olympics, but headed by IAAF (now World Athletics) Level 2 Lecturer Diploma and qualified as IAAF Combined Events Level 5( Now re-vamped to L.3 as their maximum qual.)
National senior sprint medallist with several years of coaching experience with younger athletes in Nelson, and more lately, in Tauranga that fits in with his own extensive training regime. He has experience at writing individualised training programs, and also takes group sessions, especially for maximum speed and speed endurance specialists. He has been involved in the sport for 12 years, and plays in senior level rugby teams and grade rep teams.

As an athlete Kirsten was a World Junior, Commonwealth Games (x 2), World Championships and Olympic Games (#673) New Zealand representative in javelin from 1987 – 1995. A silver medal in the 1994 Commonwealth Games was a notable highlight of her athletic career. Kirsten transitioned into coaching immediately after retiring as an athlete. A coach of all four throwing disciplines, Kirsten has coached many athletes across all throwing disciplines to national and international level success including two Olympic medallists. Was Coach of the Year for Athletics NZ, former sports co-ordinator at McLeans College, and administrator at Netball NZ. Currently Coach Education manager at Athletics NZ.
Middle and distance running adviser. Ray was a top NZ athlete from 15years to 19 years of age in the early and mid 1960s , late 1960s, concentrated more on work and education. Some of his race times in today’s kilometres would still be considered good today. At 15years of age he could run 8 kms in 25minutes, at 19years a 10,000m in 29mins 12secs, as well as a sub 50min 16,000m and being a NZ junior track champion. Mainly self-coached and self-employed spent his working life in the farming and horticulture industries. Believes most distance athletes don’t achieve their full potential because they prefer to train before they have learnt to run. Currently coaching, and will help any young athlete starting on their running journey.
Was a long distance runner, who competed though high school in New Zealand with a string of top 5 performance, but never a win. He took up a scholarship at the University of Oklahoma, and continued to develop as an athlete but never had much success. After leaving the US college environment Craig began to thrive as an athlete. Qualifying for two World Half Marathon, two World Cross Countries, Commonwealth Games marathon and setting PBs at every distance from 1500m to Marathon.
He is an Athletics NZ and World Athletics Level II middle and long distance accredited coach, and is a full time professional coach. His stable of athletes is varied and includes recreational runners, junior athletes through to Tokyo Olympic bronze Medallist Hayden Wilde (NZ Cross Country and 5000m Champion) and Olympian Samuel Tanner (youngest ever NZ sub 4min miler, and 3000m Champion). He has coached numerous athletes to National Titles in distance from 800m through to New Zealand 100km Championships, including latest winners of women’s marathons at Rotorua, Christchurch, & Auckland.
Coach to five of the eight fastest Kiwis ever, five World Champs relay reps, four Comm Games relay finalists, World Youth 200m finalist, World Indoors and two Comm Games 100/200m finalists, CG 800m finalist, three World Junior relay reps, World University hurdles and sprint reps, five national beach sprint champs & England champion, World U20 beach flag champion & senior beach sprint medallist, Argentine long jump champion, Australian titles at 200,110 Hurdles seniors and 100m U20 on same day, several NZ bobsleigh reps, eight Olympians and over 100 NZ medallists at sprints, hurdles, decathlon, heptathlon, middle distance, and jumps. Current speed & agility coach to NZ men’s & women’s Olympic medallist Sevens squads, former consultant to NZ Warriors, Nthn Force Netball, Auck Blues, NZ Gymnastics, Auckland cricket, Nth Harbour rugby, and more.
World Athletics (IAAF) Lecturer, Athletics NZ Level 3 coach in most events, former Director of Coaching for NZ & Singapore, Manager for eight years of Multi-skills Development & Talent Centres at Aspire Academy in Qatar (the world’s largest). Former long jump & relay finalist at World Cup & Comm Games. Coach of the Year for Athletics NZ and Sport Nth Harbour, provincial coach & rep in three other sports. Head Coach at Olympics, World Champs, World Universities, Comm Games, World Juniors, Asian Games, S.E. Asian Games. Editor of NZ Athletics coach and NZ Athlete magazines, original editor of Athletics NZ’s Run Jump Throw fundamental program. Former teacher at primary & Westlake BHS (H.O.D. Phys Ed & Sports Master), coaching 1st XV & several rep rugby teams including Nthn Region national tourney winners for 5 yrs, NZ schools softball champs, and now current CoachForce Athletics officer for Sport B.O.P.
Wayne was a national age group high jump champion, who also competed in hurdles and other jump events. After athletics, Wayne then went on to represent New Zealand in basketball.
Wayne has a PE degree and a Masters degree in exercise physiology from Otago University. Wayne is also a NZ registered Physiotherapist and has recently completed a PhD in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. A long-time youth basketball coach, Wayne currently focuses his athletics coaching on 400m and 800m athletes.
